29 April 2025 ☼ tabletop ☼ design ☼ Ironsworn ☼ World of Sanctuary
The major downside of moving at least some of your posting to a blog is that you have to actually post to said blog.
So, what have I been up to lately? Well, I “released” a game a couple weeks ago over on my itch page: World of Sanctuary! It’s a hack of John Harper’s World of Dungeons set in a Diablo-style world that you build yourself using oracle tables as you go along. There’s a Necromancer class that can summon skeletons! There are loot drops! There are legendary items named after the folks who playtested this with me back when I first started kinda writing it back in oh sweet merciful christ it was 2019,
It’s free and will likely always remain so, but my eventual plan is to dust off a couple more games from my decrepit Google Drive “Designs” folder, give them a very simple Google Docs layout and a bit of art, and then tie them all together into a paid bundle I’m currently thinking of calling the “Attic Collection”. I might write a little bonus content for each when that happens, too, because Commerce. In any case, once I do that, I’ll probably purge that “Designs” folder from my life and free my soul once and for all.
One more note while I have you: I also wrote a Discord Bot? I’ve been playing a lot of Ironsworn lately and found I was rolling on the same tables over and over, and finally one day I blacked out and Camden was born. Camden isn’t a full-featured dice bot, but instead has generators for the sorts of tabletop games I tend to play online. He also does World of Sanctuary loot rolls, mostly because the very first Discord bot I ever wrote way back when was intended to do just that.
Anyway, Camden is free and, yes, will always remain so because I just felt like putting in the little bit of extra work to make him something everyone can use instead of just me. If you end up giving him a go, please let me know!
